Charity Shop Manager

DGMHA is a registered and established Scottish Charity working with people who have complex mental health needs throughout Dumfries and Galloway with a strong vision and drive to deliver excellence in care support provision.

We are currently seeking a business minded, enthusiastic and highly motivated Retail Manager to lead a team at our retail premises in Castle Douglas. Management experience is essential to the role.

You will be self-motivated and passionate about raising funds for a worthwhile cause, with excellent leadership and retail management skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure and to meet targets. Previous experience as a retail manager and commerciality are essential.

The Shop Manager will recruit, inspire, support and empower their own team of volunteers. You will utilise the volunteers' knowledge of the local community and enthusiasm to identify the right product mix and pricing levels for the shop to maximise sales. You will generate a high-quality stock and lead a program of events to engage the local community and create a ‘buzz' around the shop. The Shop Manager will also take ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the shop is managed in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures for health & safety, financial procedures and the safeguarding of adults. The shop manager will have some general IT knowledge and is willing to facilitate more sales using online and technology based services.

This is a 20 hour per week role with regular weekend opening times, bank holidays and some evenings required as and when plus flexible hours when necessary.

A full driving licence is essential for use of the Company Vehicle for work purposes.
