DGMHA Celebrates 35 Years of Service with Red Carpet Fundraising Evening
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Dumfries & Galloway Mental Health Association. In 1988 DGMHA was registered as a charity by people with mental health conditions, their carers and families.
Over the past 35 years, DGMHA has continued to grow considerably and now provides housing support and care at home to people across the region in outreach services based in Dumfries, Castle Douglas, and Stranraer. DGMHA also provide support in houses of multiple occupancy, tenancies in the community and a care home, Claremont House.
Throughout the services, DGMHA has a staff team of over 90 and is growing steadily to meet the support needs in the region.
Together with this celebration, DGMHA wish to prioritise fundraising to offer a catalogue of activities and events for the people they support. Being able to take part in activities that they have expressed interest in, will enhance the lives of the service users by helping with integration back into the community and creating social connections.
On Friday 6th October Dumfries & Galloway Mental Health Association will be holding a celebration and fundraising event at the Park House Suite in the Cairndale Hotel. This will be a red-carpet event with a meal, charity auction, music and other surprises not to be missed.
More information and ticket details to follow in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out on the DGMHA Facebook page.
