Last week our Care Home hired a caravan at Southerness for the residents to take day trips and enjoy spending time away to relax and have some fun.
The days were tailored to which residents had gone along each day. Active days included walks along the beach collecting shells and an attempt to go cave searching which was thwarted by rain……typical Scotland! Quieter days were spent playing card games, quizzes and pool in the club house and beer garden. Residents enjoyed fish and chips at the beach and meals in the club house. The final evening was spent in the club house where residents and staff enjoyed Nashville entertainment; dancing and singing.
The residents were very grateful for the opportunity to go along. One resident mentioned that being in the caravan and walking around the park was taking her back to earlier years when she spent time there with her family. A wonderful time was had by all, everyone has said how much they enjoyed it and would love to return again in the near future.
