Registered Manager - West of region

(covering Stranraer, Newton Stewart and surrounding areas approx. 300 hours service)

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 FTE

About the Role

This is a position of significant responsibility, leadership, and confidentiality. The Registered Manager will lead and manage our services in the West region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that supports positive outcomes for the people we support. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive and supportive working environment.

You will also manage, supervise, and develop the Deputy Managers based across the Stranraer and Newton Stewart services, ensuring consistent best practice and excellent care delivery.


Key Responsibilities Include:

Operational Leadership & Quality of Support
• Lead, develop and review service-user support plans, risk assessments, medication systems and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Manage planning meetings, care reviews and respond to concerns/complaints in line with policy.
• Ensure safe, compliant medication administration and reporting of notifiable events.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Carry out regular audits and spot checks; create action plans and reports.
• Lead quality assurance activities, stakeholder feedback, annual returns, and continuous improvement actions.

People Leadership & Staff Development
• Provide leadership across staff teams and Deputy Managers.
• Lead safe recruitment, staff induction, training, supervision, appraisals, absence management and exit interviews.
• Promote staff development and ensure compliance with organisational policies.

Service Operations & Resource Management
• Oversee rotas, resource planning and budgeting.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery and take part in the on-call/out-of-hours rota as required.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
• Build effective relationships with service users, families, staff, external professionals and partner agencies.
• Support service promotion and respond proactively to feedback.


Person Specification:

Experience:
• Previous management or supervisory experience in a care setting (ideally as a Registered Manager).
• Proven leadership and staff management track record.

Qualifications & Training:
• Minimum SVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• SVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management
