Outreach Support Worker - Stranraer

Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health Association is an established Scottish Charity with a strong vision and drive to deliver excellence in care support provision.

We provide outreach support to adults living in their own tenancies enabling service users to fully engage in life.

Full training and support will be provided; however, we do require candidates who have a good depth of awareness, understanding and experience of Mental Health and have the ability to create, develop and drive forward personalised support plans.

The role will involve supporting people with all aspects of home and community living, emotional and phycological support. We seek to empower and build confidence ensuring a healthy and fulfilled daily lifestyle. Support can often be a listening ear, signposting, engaging in social activities, meal preparation, attending appointments alongside coping mechanisms and wellbeing support.

Covering the Stranraer area, the need for a full driving license is essential with flexible hours available including days, evenings and weekends on a full time or part time contract basis and zero hours available. You will ideally have previous experience in social care and a relevant qualification. However, we are willing to invest and commit to fully training the right candidate for the role as we pride ourselves on a value based ethos.

In return you will work for a Charity that puts adult wellbeing and safeguarding at the forefront of everything we do and be part of a friendly, ambitious, driven and innovative team.
