Dumfries Outreach

Dumfries outreach team offer support to adults with a wide range of mental health issues in the comfort of their own home or to gain access to the community. We provide reliable, consistent, and flexible person-centred support. Our services offer personalised support packages based on individual evaluation. We work in partnership with the local Community Mental Health Team, Social Work Department and liaise with other agencies.

 At the moment we support many individuals, covering Dumfries, Annan, Lockerbie, Lochmaben and Eastriggs. The outreach service is forever growing and employs around 15 support workers to offer support socially and emotionally.

All employees receive specialised training and guidance. We take the time to get to know every one of our residents and learn about their personal histories and values. Each resident has a designated key worker who assists in creating their own individualised care.

Our team leader Avril Mckinnell is supported by her two deputies, Brenda Thomson and Lucy Ross who as a management team bring years of service knowledge to the company.

In the future, we hope that no one will have to battle mental illness alone. Our goal is to provide people with transformational assistance, making sure that everyone may get the help they require when they need it and in a manner that suits them best.
