DGMHA WEST
DGMHA WEST Outreach team provide support to adults with a variety of mental health issues from the comfort of their own home or to access the community. We provide reliable, consistent, flexible and personalised support. Our service offers support packages based on your individual evaluation. We work with local community mental health teams and social work departments, and partner with other agencies.
Currently we support around 70 individuals, covering Stranraer and Newton Stewart. We employ 16 support staff who all receive specialised training and guidance in order to carry out their role in the best possible manner.
As a team, we respect the individual ability of service users to participate in day-to-day community activities to connect with other members of the community and foster a sense of belonging and encourage community integration.
We take time to get to know each of our service users and learn about their personal life history and values. Each service user has a designated key worker to help build personalised care.
Our Registered Manager, Ann Marie Wither, is supported by her two deputies, Karen Wither and Emma Miller, who as a team, bring a wealth of knowledge to the service.
Our values and beliefs are reflected in the services we provide, in that:
The service we provide reflects the needs of the local community
We respect the dignity and rights of everyone that uses our service
We create an environment that is welcoming to everyone, with a zero tolerance to any discriminatory behaviour
We offer choices and promote independence
We raise awareness and educate the public on mental health issues
We work in partnership with other relevant agencies
